Week 08 & 09 Renewed Vigor & Vow
I am sorry to everyone for not posting last week. Like the last time that I wound up making a 2 week post I did do a little bit of sewing both weeks, but unlike the last time I did not have technical difficulties. Simply not getting around to posting is not much of an excuse but that is what happened. Part of it was that I got a little discouraged with myself for not being further along than I was, especially after the good momentum that I felt from the week before. The other was just that time got away from me, which everyone experiences from time to time. I didn't feel like there was much point in doing a Week 08 post when I should be posting Week 09 in 1 to 2 days.
So randomly throughout yesterday I have been giving this blog some thought. I began this "Weekly Blog" to make sure that I would do at least a little bit of sewing every week because I am happier when I am creating pieces, seeing the pieces come together & being completed. To that extent, it is working, & because of that I am afraid of turning this into a "Bi-Weekly Blog." I can easily see it then changing to "monthly" then "Quarterly" then "yearly" then not at all. No matter how few or many people come across this page, it keeps me accountable & keeps me plugging away & making time for something that I need to make time for. I know that whether we all realize it or not, everyone has something that they need to make time for but don't for 1 reason or another, whether its for a good excuse or not.
Now going along with "making time" for something, I realized throughout the day that part of my issue with being consistent & accountable with this blog is that I never really set a time to complete a post. That on this day, I will make a post. So that is what I am going to do. Please bare with me as I figure out the perfect day of the week to post. Currently with the thoughts that I have had, I am going to try for Thurs' Night/ Friday Morning. The weekends have a tendency of getting away from me real quick & I should not treat those days as last minute procrastination sewing days but as sewing kick off days. The other reason why I am going to try for Thurs Night/ Friday Morning is the fact that if I go on a Sanity break for a weekend, I will probably not post until Mon/ Tues then I'll be not too far from this same spot.
So that is my long-winded apology & my promise to be more consistent.
Now as for my progess since the last posting...
Both purple sleeves are attached by careful & slow stitching
And Nellie can get her arm though without any difficulty, though she rightfully did complain about all of the poky needles.
I even got sides of the top & the sides of the skirt stitched together, which might be hard to see below with all of the pins & needles that I had put into place a long while back.
So the next step will be attaching the purple top to the bottom & cuffing the sleeves.
So then next Thurs Night/ Friday Morning, we will just have to wait & see how far along I wind up. Hopefully I'll be even 2 step further along if not more. But I must remember not to overload myself on my projects. When I do it is completely counterproductive to what I am trying to do. Its not just the Destination its the Journey along the way, that you learn from little by little.

Great post! I bet that was kinda therapeutic :) YOU GO GIRLIE! ♡
ReplyDeleteYes, it was therapeutic. I'm kinda glad that I got lazy last week so that I could have this kinda post. Also who knows maybe someone else might get inspired to make time for little projects that make them happy, even if its not sewing.
