Week 07 More sleeves
Yay!! I am finally nearing the end of the outer sleeves, which has been more of a hurtle than most of the project thus far. I shouldn't jinx myself but I think the rest will be smooth sailing until I reach the detailing part.
As mentioned in Week 06 I was having second thoughts about using elastic to cinch up the sleeve a little bit more or not. This primarily came from the fact that the width of the cinching ribbon would have made it very difficult to pass under the ribbon. So I wanted to try handstitching the ribbon & see how it looks & if it could go over Nellie's hand. And...
it did. I then continued on to pinning & handstitching the ribbon onto the other sleeve.
Now this cannot be a frilly-froo-froo dress without plenty of bows & ribbons as well. So using chopsticks, Alene's fabric Fusion fabric glue, ribbon & pins to tack down...
I created & glued bows to the sleeves.
Next on my list for next week is to sew the top together & attach the sleeves to the top. So see you all again in a week.
