My Assistants

I am a cat and doll person and sometimes they like to help out.  So here is my crew and their  background...

Kosha Kitty

My brother once had a cat named Neko, who preferred living here.  Neko eventually got sick and passed on leaving a kitty-cat sized hole in both my father and my hearts.  Afterwards I was leaving the Festival Lane JoAnn's store, I looked across and saw Colony Cats.  I told my dad about it, and we checked it out.  Needless to say, Koshka was a rescue from there.  My Dad met her on his second visit when she was hiding in the supply closet.  She was suppose to be my Dad's cat, but she claimed me as her person instead.  She is not the same cat that was brought home.  It has taken time but she has found her "Big Girl" voice.  She enjoys catnip, toy mice and ribbon.

Chat Cat

In an attempt to get Koshka more relaxed and out of her shell, my Dad wanted to try an experiment of having a kitten for Koshka to love and care for.  A friend of my brother just had a litter of kittens which included 1 seal point siamese.  Thanks to his beloved childhood cat, Jakey, my Dad has a soft spot for this type of cat.  So along came Chat.  The experiment was a bust, but Dad liked Chat too much to return him to the litter.  And then Chat became a bully who has to be the center of attention.  One of his nick-names is "Chat Mat."  He usually likes flopping on my fabric when I'm working on cutting naturally.

Now onto my main dolls.  The ones that mean the most to me are my American Girl Dolls and my Lee Middleton Original Dolls.

I grew up with the historical or "BeForever" girls.  I enjoyed the stories and the artwork that sadly is missing from the current copies. Then flipping through the catalog, the dolls and accessories were just as beautiful as the books.  I always wanted one.

Josefina

Josefina was the last "Santa" gift that I received. That Christmas all of the girl cousins on the Fox side got a doll from Pleasant Company.  I got Josefina, Bethany Kristen got Kirsten, Bethany Dianne got Molly and Kaitlin got a "Bitty Baby."  I am the eldest grand-child on both sides of my family.  On the Fox side there is an age gap between me and my cousins.  The American Girl helped to bridge that gap.  Josefina would go with me to family events for years.  She always went when I was being a nanny to Bethany Dianne and Kaitlin during Christmas Break and when Grandma was sick in the hospital.

In her "Birthday" story, she believes that she has a calling to be a healer.  So now she is very interested and helping me out with my "Young Living Essential Oils" that I started up in November 2017.

Nellie

My best and longest friend, Samantha, has the Samantha doll.  She was crestfallen when I informed her of Samantha Doll's 1st archival retirement.  She was expecting to keep collecting Samantha Doll's things bit by bit for years.  This I had known, what I hadn't known was that she also wanted Nellie.  When I found that out, I told my friend that I would keep an eye out on E-bay & that it would go 1 of 2 ways.  Either I get Nellie for her, or I keep Nellie for myself and they would be Best Friend Sister Dolls... Yeah I went with the 2nd.  Nellie is inseparable from Samantha Doll when the 2 are together for Christmas and Birthdays.

In "Nellie Promises" book, Nellie realizes that she wants to become a teacher.  So she is going to be my task manager.

Isabelle Palmer

She was the "Girl of the Year 2014."  I identified with her love of designing costumes and clothes and struggle with self confidence. Because of that I really wanted her, but I didn't have a lot of space.  I did pick up some of her pieces, hoping that someday I would get her off of E-bay.  In 2017, I was "encouraged" to take a leadership course through work.  I was reminded of her 3rd book "Isabelle to the Stars."  Isabelle still struggles with her self confidence, but does take initiative and a leadership role when needed.  I took this as a sign that it was time to get Isabelle, so I did.

With her love and knack of designing and sewing, Isabelle helps me out with my sewing projects and gets just as excited as I do.

I actually worked at the Lee Middleton Newborn Nursery at Polaris Fashion Place before the shop was closed.
