Progress
Hello again,
It has been another week, and I actually made some progress with my China Rose dress! Yay! There is still more to do, but I am beginning to see the finish line.
The China Rose dress now has...
- All of the arm and neckline baste stitch complete on the bodice.
- The Colette Triple Thread gather stitch prepped on the bodice front.
- The lace sleeves cut out.
So what's left to do?
- Baste stitch the bodice and neckline of the sleeves
- Attach the sleeves to the bodice
- Attach the bodice to the yoke and yoke to the skirt
- Insert the zipper
- Bias tape the neckline and cuffs
- Hem the skirt
Yes, I do see that there is still a number of things to do. I did not say that the finish line with this project was extremely close either, just that I am being to see the finish line banner in the distance. The main thing that I see right now is the the dress is looking more and more like my concept design. This is what is making me excited the most currently.
I did have some distractions from my project this week though...
With my brain never being content with the current project before me, I went looking for my new Charm Patterns: Rita Blouse. Sadly, it is currently lost. I took it out to admire the artwork and to read the instructions, before bed (bad decision). Now I cannot find it. To be on the safe side I went ahead and reordered the pattern unsure of how long it will take for me to locate the one that I have. This then prompted me to reorganize my current pattern stash physically and electronically (Tap Forms App), well at least my independently printed pattern packets.
This past Tuesday Colette Patterns came out with a new pattern called Gwen. It is not calling my name. I bring this up though in case any of you are interested in it but mostly for another reason. Colette is having a promotion for this pattern to be printed by a company called Patternsy. Several years ago, I purchased Colette Patterns: Cinnamon pattern, which was only available as a digital when I purchased it. It was a pain. I didn't get the margin sizing page matched up correctly and then there was all of the taping together. With this experience, I made the decision. The next time that I print off a digital pattern, I would have a printer company print it off. I would rather the printer deal with the sizing page then myself. So needless to say, I am extremely interested in this company. I have not tried them yet, but I will and let you know the verdict.
Until next time...
