The Greatest Showman

 Hello again,

Well its been another week, and I hope that everyone out there had a good week.

For my Colette Dahlia - China Rose Project...

My brain was distracted on how to create a "Fan-out" skirt pattern.  Fortunately for me, I have the Felicity Craft Book from American Girl.  In its pages, there is a craft for making a folding fan out of ribbon and cardstock to inspire me.  So my main focus this week was to hunt down brass fasteners for the pivot point.  I found some in the supply area of my local Walmart.  So I am now able to move forward with creating my fan out skirt pattern.

The adventure of this past week...

I went to see "The Greatest Showman" with my friend Samantha.  This upcoming weekend is going to be inventory at work.  I wanted to get out and hang out with her before then.  When I asked what she would like to do, the answer was to go see "The Greatest Showman."  Another friend of hers recommended it.  So we went.

It was AMAZING.  There was a vitality to it that brought to mind "Singing in the Rain."  The quality of the movie is on par with "Phantom of the Opera" and the Hugh Jackman "Les Miserables."  Sorry I have not seen "La La Land" for comparison but the music was done by the same people, which has me rather curious.  It is another Hugh Jackman starring musical that was inspired by the imagination of P.T. Barnum.  Yes the circus guy.  It is not 100% accurate to the original P.T. Barnum's life, only snippets.  But it is too enjoyable to care.  Samantha and I both really liked Keala Settle, the Bearded Lady Lettie.  Before heading home following the movie, Samantha and I both purchased a copy of the soundtrack.

As mentioned above this upcoming weekend is inventory.  This means that I will be working on Saturday and sleeping on Sunday.  In short, very little chance of going out on a mini-adventure.  I am hoping that I will be a little more disciplined with working on my "China Rose" project a little each day through-out the week.  This way I have something to report back on.

Until then I hope that everyone out there has a good week and makes time for something fun...

Here is a taste of the movie...
