A Simple Week
Hello again,
I hope that everyone has enjoyed their Valentine's Day this past week. Mine was rather simple... I worked. I did wind up making my own chocolate dipped strawberries and chocolate mouse pie.
Creativity wise, I finally drafted the pattern pieces for my current seasonal project, Colette Dahlia - "China Rose," including my personal fit modifications. The final task for drafting is to turn my skirt pieces into a "fan." This way I can flare out the skirts however much my fabric allows instead of the pencil skirt style of the default pattern. Very soon I will hopefully be on my way to making the basic mock-up of "China Rose." I purchased more gingham for my mock-up fabric during Online Fabric Store's New Years sale, so I'll be covered.
For my adventure of the week, I went to the Book Loft in German Village this past Saturday. I had initially wanted to go to the "In Loving Color" exhibit at the Franklin Park Conservatory, but I did not get moving in a timely manner to go. Who could disturb a loving Koshka when she is resting on you? I can't.
Anyway back when I was in college, I enjoyed walking around and exploring the campus library. You didn't always know where you would wind up, especially in the older section. With that memory in mind, is why I decided on the Book Loft.
My favorite sections that I spent the most time in were the crafting area (of course), and the classics section. In my exploration I happened across "The Arabian Nights Illustrated" , and I purchased it. Something that I have been desiring to do is to get back into designing more. I am hopeful that it will inspire me. I was also curious about the stories. I have a DVD copy of the feature silhouette animated film "The Adventures of Prince Achmed," which is based off of the stories from "Arabian Nights." I haven't been able to read much of it yet, but I am looking forward to when I do.
Well, that is it for this week. I hope that everyone out there finds time for a happy adventure or craft this upcoming week
Until next time...
