Completion & A New Beginning

Hello again,

The main thing that I have to say is...

The Pillows Are Now Complete!  Yay!!!

My co-worker is very pleased with them.  Best of all, he said that they actually fit the pillows.  When he initially commissioned me to do them, all he said was to base them off of the zippers & make them a square shape.  That was it. No 9"x 9" instructions or anything like that.  So that has been my biggest conscern with them.  Now I don't have to work or see ugly, tacky Angry Birds fabric for a good long while.  Yay!

With the pillowcases actually finished, I even continued with my momentum & actually began my Summer Solstice Project.  I didn't get far with it but again at least I started it.

Using my light board, I took the pattern pieces for the skirt portion of my Summer Solstice Project & traced the my 3 potential skirt sizes.

The main focus of my last clothing project known as the "Forever Project" or "Rose Petal Project," was on figuring out the top.  This was because I knew that I would have more modifications to complete with the top than the skirt in order to make it fit me like a glove.  During this process I had decided to make the skirt 1 to 2 sizes bigger than what I am, just to be safe.  It wound up being so big that I had to belt it.  With that experience I had decided that with the next clothing project that I would start with the skirt in order to get the most appropriate size.  Another reason for this is the fact that one of the top's modifications that I have to do is effected by the skirt.  So it would be a lot easier on me if I did the skirt before the top.

Now I am ready for the next step of making a skirt mock-up.  I am hoping that I will be able to complete this portion of the mock-up by Sunday.  That way I will be able to wear the skirt all day to insure that it will suit me to a "T".  Once I am confident in the skirt then I can freely continue on with the rest of my mock-up.  After that the will be the real deal.

That about does it for me this week.  Until next time...
