Scouting & Planning
Hello again.
I know that I am a little late with this post but I wanted to go ahead & post what I've done over the past 2 weeks before I completely forget.
This episode is plan, plan, plan.
I made myself sit down & create rough deadlines to keep for completion of my co-workers pillows & my summer solstice project. Notice the word "rough" because as much as I want to keep the deadlines, I am aware of how I am and the likeliness that they will run a little overdue. I'm just hoping that if they are over the deadlines, they won't be over by too much.
Also since the last time that I posted my Online Fabric Store order of gingham & samples arrived. Yay!!! I was anxiously awaiting this order, so I love the fact that its now here. I also love "petting" the samples that I ordered. Out of the samples on the whole, I liked the 100% white cotton lawn for the lining of my Summer Solstice Dress. It wasn't the color that I wanted, but I love the feel. When ordering the samples I knew that there was a distinct possibility that I might not find the exact color that I had envisioned. This is why I was looking for natural fiber fabrics in white, especially after learning my lesson with Nellie's Birthday Frills dress from a while back.
Prior to finalizing my decision on linings, I went to Joann's Fabrics to scout out a contender against the White Lawn Cotton & potential fabrics for the Fall Equinox Project. Yes, I am well aware that my brain is never satisfied with the project that it is on and instead is working on the next project. But to be fair that project will be a Renaissance Dress.
At the conclusion of this scouting trip I had made my decision. Following my JoAnn's purchase, I then went to Blicks Art supplies to pick-up Jacquard Brand dye packets that may combine into teal. I learned my lesson from attempting to use RIT dye for Nellie's Dress. I only deal with Jacquard Brand Dyes & Fabric paints. They take easily & they do not have a cheap look to them like puffer paints. Then when I was able to, I ordered the White Cotton Lawn from the Online Fabric Store. There were no contenders.
As for the scouting out for the Fall Equinox, nothing has screamed out to me yet. I may simply not be mentally there yet. But from past Renaissance Projects, I does not hurt in the least to scout out ideas early on rather than later.
Well that about does it for me for this episode. Next week I should have at least some news about the Coworker Pillows.
Until then...
