4 weeks & counting...

Happy Weekend everyone.

The countdown continues toward the Highland weekend of the Renaissance Faire is about 4 weeks away.  Admittedly, I am beginning to feel a lil nervous & hoping that I can hunker down a lil bit more.  But it will get done.

This past I worked on both the Aqua Mist Cloak & the Water Lily dress.

As for the dress, I sewed all the skirt pieces together.  Unfortunately, I sewed the Center Line inside-out, but at least its the mock-up.  So I don't have to take it apart.  Also I prepped the Colette trick for gathering, where you run 3 parallel lines of you longest stitch.  I did not however, managed to trace the top,but that will be tackled in this upcoming week.

I do have some good news in regards to the dress  Currently I'm a lil more sure of how my detailing will go & will try to pick up those elements later on this weekend.  So yay!!  I don't know why its been so hard picking out pieces for this project but it hasn't.

Now then, I may not have tackled my goal for the top but I actually did a lil more on the Aqua Mist & its hood.

Since last week, I used my old lining as a template for cutting out the velvet for the hood.  Afterwards, I cut the velvet around the lining & cut the lining up the side that was supposed to open anyways.  Following I then pinned lining to lining & velvet to velvet & stitched along the seams.

So in short, I didn't get entirely as far as I had wanted with the Dress, but I did get a touch farther than I had intended to withe the Aqua Mist hood.

My goals for this upcoming week in regards to the dress would be to address the top, and then begin cutting the pattern from its proper fabric.  For Aqua Mist.  I need to figure out if I want the arched lining detail on the hood or not, then begin to attach the Hood to the Body.

Until next week...
