How Faire Was the Weekend?

Hello again...

This past weekend was busy but good, but I knew that it would be.  My cousin, Kaitlin was married on Friday.  A few of the wedding pieces were purchased from the opening weekend of the Renaissance Festival (bridal drinkware and cake topper).  I was often asked if I was looking forward to the Renaissance Festival the following day, and several extended family members mentioned that they were thinking about going as well.

As for completing the Lailanna top to wear to the Festival, I didn't.  In my hurried attempt to get it wearable, I was doing more damage to it than good.  The rebozo centerpiece for my ensemble hadn't arrived yet.  In fact when mentioning the rebozo situation to others the common response was  "It'll arrive while you are at the Fair."  I came home Saturday night to a "we have a package that you need to sign."  So, yes, my rebozo 1st arrived at my house while I was at the Faire.  Between these 2 facts and recognizing that sleep was more important to enjoy myself at the Festival, is why I gave up pushing for project completion by my original deadline.  I am continuing along with this project until it is complete, but it is at a more relaxed pace now.

Being who I am, I still dressed in costume for the Renaissance Festival.  I wore the Waterlily under-dress that I purchased a couple of years ago with a circlet.  Once my hair was braided and I saw my reflection I looked like the "Child-like Empress" from The Neverending Story.  Samantha and I did a lot of walking, shopping and looking around.  We even purchased tickets for nice seats to the joust with poor Knight Matthew.  His horse is still in training and stops too abruptly.  Sir Matthew fell off of his horse twice during our show, once during the first joust of the day and admittedly I have no idea about the last show.

Well that's all I really have to say for this week, but below are pictures from my busy but good weekend.
