A trace of progress
Hello again,
I am still working on drafting my muslin for this project. However after last week, I decided to go a different route.
My original plan that I was working on of tracing Colette's Dahlia, followed by tracing Pastille then finally combine the 2 pattern tracings, seemed like too much work. So I tried to find a way to simplify this. I did math. I took my measurements against Colette's size 18 to figure out the difference. Only my waist was larger than the size 18. So I took the difference and divided it by 4,(once for the Front Right Side another for the Front Left then Back Right and Back Left). My answer was 1.5," which I rounded up to 2."
I kept the darts and center-line markings at the Size 18 spots. I then moved the pattern 2" out from the center-line, so that I could trace the outer cut lines for the pieces.
The tracings of the Front and Back pieces of the skirt portion are now complete. All that remains before I begin my first muslin for this project is tracing the top portion of the dress. Yay! So hopefully I can begin soon. I am look forward to it.
