Rubbing, Cutting & Stuffing
Hello again,
Being sick this past week with my annual bout of bronchitis, has left me with a lack of motivation to do anything, including Petal Perfect. Fortunately, my bronchitis is pretty much gone now, so its a simple matter of getting back into the swing of things.
Despite this warning, I did manage to do some work on the Petal Perfect skirt. After last week's practice, the focus of this week was beginning to work on the proper fabric. Armed with the Merengue skirt pattern, a tracing wheel, freezer paper, white writing utensils (chalk & water soluble pencil), I traced & transferred the pattern & its markings to the proper fabric.

Once the initial markings were complete, I cut out the pieces. Apparently someone thought that I needed assistance with this part

After these were cut out, I redid the placement markers in chalk, then folded the wrong sides together and rubber the chalked markings onto the other side.
This is as far as I got on Petal Perfect this week, however, that doesn't mean that this is all that I did.
Sunday, yes Valentines Day, I did a side project of catnip pouches in honor of my calico, Koshka's birthday. She doesn't indulge in toys a whole lot, but she LOVES catnip. She especially loved the organic catnip pouches that used to be sold at Simply Vague, a store that sells products made by local Ohio Artisans its a lil bit of a trend here round Columbus that I love. However, it appears that the original artisan is no longer selling them or at least through Simply Vague. So my dad picked up some organic catnip and I some fabric, in order for me to make the pouches. I couldn't think of a more appropriate time to make at least one for my birthday kitty. However with jealous Chat cat, it quickly became 3 pouches.
One was small, the 1st one, and 2 larger. All 3 cats like & enjoyed them.

Koshka and Chat tend to favor the smaller one that I made, which I had filling issues with & spilled a deceit sized portion of catnip on me.

A future note when I make more would be to make a pouch just a touch larger than my small for filling purposes.
That's it for my progress this past week. I'm hoping that by my next blog, that my skirt will be complete. Yay!! So until then...
