Inspiring Thoughts
Hello again,
Well, I've been working quite a bit of overtime and haven't gotten too far with things, but I have made progress with planning my next deadline project.
And here is the conceptional debut of...
Radiant Jubilee
a Sugar Plum of a dress
My goal is to complete it in time for the annual Nutcracker trip with Samantha and hopefully her niece.
Yes I am aware that I don't have any track record of completing a deadline project let alone to my satisfaction, but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't try.
The origins of "Radiant Jubilee" began on a Joanne's trip to see what wardrobe would I design to go with my Royale Vintage Greta Shoes in Garnet. I came across a gorgeous velvet burn-out fabric (below my thumb) that wasn't available online. After a night of sitting and dreaming of the fabric, I returned the next day and purchased. I instinctively imagined it as a holiday version of Charm Patterns: Lamour dress, a bit of moxy fun. In my stash of fabric I had bright pink lining fabric that I thought would add to the moxy fun vibe I was going for. I did not have any showstopping (and slightly wind stopping) fabric to be seen through the burn-out velvet, until this past weekend. At yet another Joanne's store (Apparel fabric stores in central Ohio are limited to Joanne's and online, quilters reign supreme here) I found the purple below... Crushed Satin in Blackberry Wine. Between the floral motif of the burnout and my like of hair flowers I found myself in the embellishment section of the store scouting out possibilities, especially for the yoke.
The concept is still developing and I know will change as it goes, but I at least have a starting point and really need to begin on my muslin.
Until next time...
