Progress, Plans and Plays
Hello again,
Well its been quite a couple of weeks with sewing progress, adventures and planning more fun. So here we go...
Mending Bag: Complete
Well its taken a couple of weeks to return to my mending bag, but I did. With a little bit of bias tape, thread and my sewing machine, I fixed all of my strap issues. Yay!!! The only item now remaining from the mending bag is my Cinnamon Slip. That will be archived for a while before returning to it.
China Rose: Hem Complete
The hem is now finally complete!!! Yay! Its taken a while, but I was primarily worked on it during my work breaks.
China Rose will now be archived until after the Renaissance Fair when it begins to get cooler. Once I return to it, the focus will be on readjusting the sizing due to my weight loss.
Croquis: Complete
This has also taken a while, but I finally drafted up my croquis. Back in July when I did my birthday clothes shopping, I had a saleswoman from the Hanesbrand store to take a picture of me to turn into a croquis.
I flipped the image on my computer. Then using my light board I was able to trace the original picture. First tracing was a detailed of the original photo. The second was traced from the first tracing and is the body base shapes that I usually build my designs off of.
The reason for flipping the image is to print a copy of the body base and draw on the opposite side. If there is 1 piece of white paper underneath the sheet being worked on, you are able to see the base lines through the paper. Once the design is complete, the base lines on the other side don't distract.
Shakespeare in the Park: Midsummer's Night Dream
Things lucked out for my friend Samantha and I to make it to another Shakespeare in the Park Production. It was a little bit nostalgic to see this play. It was the first of these plays that we saw. Midsummer's Night Dream. This one was different from the first one though... no puppets.
A number of the actors played double duty. Theseus = Oberon, Hippolyta = Titania and Theseus' page was Puck.
It was very enjoyable. Bottom was hilariously awesome. I would have liked to record the death scene of the play within the play. A definite recommend for anyone in Columbus, OH.
Through-out the day, Samantha and I did discuss the upcoming Renaissance Fair and when we would like to go. But more on that next week.
Until then...
