8 Days & counting.
Hello & Happy Weekend everyone!!!
As many of you know I am now under the wire with less than 8 days to complete my Ren ware for the Highland's themed weekend at the Ohio Renaissance Festival. Now that I have changed my marker board count down from weeks to days I am beginning to feel the anticipation & the pressure to get everything completed. With all of this in mind plus all that is remaining, I have made the decision that I will not post an episode next week but I will the following to recap everything. This way I have more time to work on my projects & hopefully get some sleep the night before.
This will be a fairly simple post this week. I will save most pics from the past week for the grand finale episode of this multi-parter storyline.
In regards to Aqua Mist I have:
Completed the patchwork that I mentioned last week, which I think looks good. I am very glad that I went with crushed velvet.
I have also pinned the lining to the outer shell so that I can run my gathering stitches to make it easier to attach the Body & the Hood together via the collar pieces.
And that is where I currently left the cloak
Just like last week, because of the amount of work that needed to be done for my new dress, majority of my focus lied with Water Lily. I still have a bit to go, however, I do believe that I made good progress with it this past week.
Studying the High-Low dresses in my closet as jumping off points & then experimenting with the bottom of my mock-up, I believe that I know what direction to go & how to go about it.
After tackling that hurtle, I took to my scissors & cut the real deal out of the silk that I purchased for this dress. Then I pinned & attached the skirt pieces together. Once that was completed I prepped my gathering stiches for when I will attach the skirt to the bodice.
As for the bodice, I chalked my markings & have been hand-stitching the darts during breaks. Which following the tangled mess I originally had when I did my usual of double thread & changed to single, The darts are now completed.
So the short of it was that it has been a decently productive week. I will admit that I still have quite a bit to go yet, however, I know what I have left & how I will go about it. So everyone wish me luck & I will be back in 2 weeks
